Objective Perioperative intermittent inflation is used to prevent deep venous thrombosis in patients with severe craniocerebral injury and to observe the preventive effect. Methods Sixty-eight patients with severe craniocerebral injury were randomly divided into observation group and control group, 34 cases each. The observation group used intermittent inflation before surgery, intraoperative and postoperative, while the control group started to use intermittent inflation after surgery. D-dimer concentration, degree of lower extremity swelling and deep venous thrombosis in two groups were compared. Results The degree of swelling in the lower extremities of the observation group was lighter than that of the control group. The D-dimer level and the incidence of deep venous thrombosis in the lower extremities were significantly lower than those in the control group (all P <0.05). Conclusion Perioperative intermittent inflation can effectively reduce the incidence of deep venous thrombosis in patients with severe craniocerebral injury.
