俄罗斯海军的战略导弹核潜艇“库尔斯克”号(KyPCKЪ),于2000年8月12日午夜,在巴伦支海沉没,艇上118名官兵全部遇难。消息传来,举世震惊。该艇当时正在参加俄海军北方舰队的演习,沉没地点在俄罗斯西北角的科拉半岛附近,离海军基地摩尔曼斯克约200公里。“库尔斯克”号是前苏联第四代巡航导弹核动力攻击潜艇,西方称其为“奥斯卡”(Oscar)Ⅱ级,水下排水量14000吨,艇上两舷各布王12具倾斜发射的巡航导弹发射筒;艇首还有6具鱼雷发射管。
Russian navy's strategic missile submarine “Kyrksk” (KyPCKЪ) sank in the Barents Sea at midnight on August 12, 2000, killing all 118 officers and men on board. The news came, shocked the world. The boat was participating in the exercises of the Russian Navy's Northern Fleet at the time, sinking near the Kola Peninsula in the northwest corner of Russia and about 200 km from the Murmansk naval base. “Kursk ” is the fourth generation of the former Soviet Union nuclear-powered cruise missile attack submarine, the West calls it “Oscar ” level, the underwater displacement of 14,000 tons, the boat on both sides of the King 12 Tilt fired cruise missile launchers; there are 6 torpedo tubes on the bow.
