Through the observation and research of hydraulic pressure and decompression test of spillway tunnel in a project in Xinjiang, the feasibility of applying step deceleration energy dissipation on the bottom of high flow rate spillway tunnel is demonstrated. The cavitation characteristics of the step are discussed and a reasonable Aerated facilities body shape
