The hydrogen content reduces the utilization of reducing gas in terms of thermodynamics and improves the utilization rate in terms of kinetics, so the hydrogen content of the smelting coal should be moderate. COREX process requires the use of a certain percentage of coke to supplement the lack of fuel effective heating value and the formation of a fixed bed of carbon to develop high temperature reaction, in order to reduce the amount of coke, the coal must also have some thermal stability to form a stable Fixed bed.
