去年秋天,我和小组七位同学到北京站,就那里开展“五讲四美”活动的情况,进行了两个月的调查。刚下去的时候,我们经常议论,觉得现在生活中浪花太少,泡沫太多,因而有些不满和牢骚。当我们到了火热的生活第一线,却发现处处都有浪花,生活总的来说,是奔腾向上的。战斗在各条战线上的人们,都在一步一个脚印地建设着社会主义的物质文明和精神文明,祖国在前进,人民在创造着美好的生活。刚到北京站,先是听人家介绍情况,小本子记得满满的,真是新鲜,就是普通的小事,也很教育人。譬如,有些旅客非常讲礼貌,问话总是说:“同志,请问您乘211次在哪儿进站?”服务员答:“请进第四站台。”旅客说:“谢谢。”服务员答:“您别客气。”服务员说:遇上这样的旅客,让人心里特别舒畅,这样的旅客,以你们知识分子、大学生居多。我听了很惭愧,因为我在公共场合说话虽然也是注意礼貌的,但是 Last fall, I and my group of seven students went to Beijing Railway Station and conducted a two-month investigation on the “five stresses, four beautiful” activities there.
