飞机应迎风起飞,其原因有两个:一是可以缩短起飞的距离;二是比较安全。飞机起飞时,只有当机翼所产生的升力大于飞机的总重力时,才能够离开地面。升力的大小同流过飞机机翼表面的气流速度关系很大,气流速度越大,升力就越大,如果没有风,流过机翼表面气流的速度就等于飞机滑跑的速度;如果有风迎面吹来,流过机翼表面气流的速度就等于飞机滑跑速度加上风速,且在这种情况下飞机产生的升力也较大,飞机在较小的滑跑速度下就能获得足够的升力,滑跑距离就可短一些。另外,飞机在起飞时速度较慢,稳定性较差,如果这时遭到强劲的侧风吹来,就有可能被吹倒造成飞行事故。因此飞机要迎风起飞,这样更安全。
