锡是呈合金的形态——青铜在人类历史上出现的。从前因为青铜意味着是从中国渡海传到日本的金属,故把它称为“唐金”。唐金的华表、灯笼等都是以青铜为材料的。镜、剑、矛等青铜器距今2000年前,在弥生文化时代,是从朝鲜半岛北卩开始传到九州的。不久,在日本将这些残破了的青铜器又重新回炉铸成了铜铎和其它别的东西。朝鲜半岛在公元前500年,在岛的西南卩出产相当多的精巧青铜器,其技术不用说是从当时的先进国家——中国传去的,因此,人们确信公元前1800年左右的时候中国已进入到青铜时代了。
