茶梅,常年碧绿,株型丰满,树体婆娑,着花量多,花期很长,品种繁多,抗寒性强。花开时既有茶花之风度,又有梅花之气魄,特别受人青睐。茶梅寿命长,但如果管理不当,植株在花后容易出现大量落叶,并迅速死亡。我有过这样的失败,几位花友也有类似情况。后来我们分析死因,对症采取措施,加强管理,又莳养了红、白、紫茶梅22盆,引进‘东红牡丹’、‘宝琢’、‘黑椿’、‘烈香’等名贵珍奇品种,均生长良好。近十年来,再未出现死株现象。那么,怎样防止茶梅开花后突然死亡呢?我的做法是:1.疏蕾。茶梅孕育花蕾特别多,不仅枝头长双蕾、三蕾、四蕾,而且多数叶腋里也长蕾。让这许多花蕾留着开花,势必造成株体负担过重,使株内盆内的养分消耗殆尽。因此,到初秋季节,当茶梅的花蕾与叶芽可以明显区别时,就要下
