在知识以“爆炸”的速度增长的时代,现代信息技术不受时间和空间的任何约束,知识与信息更新换代的速度大大超过了人类世代更换的速度,无法想象在这个时代的个体,还能够依靠传统的培训方式,有效地实现教师培训。网络培训就是顺应这一时代特点,随着现代信息技术的发展而产生的一种新型培训形式,是构筑知识经济时代人们终身学习体系的主要手段。这种新的培训形式改变课程内容“难、繁、偏、旧”和过于注重书本知识的现状,关注学员的学习兴趣和经验,精选终身学习必备的基础知识和技能。而且还改变了课程实施过于强调接受学习、死记硬背、机械训练的现状,倡导学员主动参与、乐于探究、勤于动手,培养学员搜集和处理信息的能力、获取新知识的能力、分析和解决问题的能力以及交流与合作的能力。它的突出特点是:教与学真正不受空间和时间的限制;有更丰富的教学资源供受教育者选用;教学形式由原来的以教为主变为以学为主。所以要完成教与学的任务,教师必须以大量的工作在课堂以外做:指导学员运用网络资源,及时关注学员的学习进程,在网上解答疑难,组织学员小组学习,并批阅作业等。这些都要求从事网络培训教学的教师切实转变自己的角色状态。
