In 1991, at the first subway in Monterrey, metropolitan area, Nuevo León, Mexico, a 18.5 km long line 1 was completed and opened to the public. The prefabricated concrete segmented beam structure was designed by Jean Muller. The standard length of this simply supported beam is 27 m and the maximum span length is 36 m. Box girder width 7.40m, height 2.13m. The viaduct transports passengers very efficiently, but has serious aesthetic flaws: the wavy segmented beam nodes, the rusty columns and the segmented beams are not evenly colored.
