从20世纪70年代开始,语用学中出现了“politeness”这一理论。其中影响最大的是利奇的礼貌原则以及布朗和列文森提出的“面子”理论。同时,日语中有相当发达的敬语体系。本论文通过探讨敬语与语用学中礼貌原则的关系,提出敬语体系只是表示礼貌的一种形式,并不能和礼貌原则替换的观点。 From the 1970s, the theory of “politeness” appeared in pragmatics. One of the most influential is Leach’s politeness principle, as well as Brown’s and Levinson’s theory of “face”. At the same time, there is a well-developed system of honorifics in Japanese. By discussing the relationship between honorifics and politeness principles, this paper proposes that the honorifics system is only a form of politeness that can not be replaced by politeness principle.
