齒輪傳動的質量,首先应决定於齒輪製造的精度。剃齒前,齒輪齒形的修正是提高齒輪精度的方法之一。一种应用最廣泛的修正齒形的方法,是按照一定的尺寸將齒輪根部切一缺口並在齒頂切出倒稜,此時在輪齒所剃下的高度上,留下均勻的剃齒加工餘量(圖一a)。考慮到剃齒時的特殊情况,另外提出一种齒形修正的方法,卽在齒形上留下不均勻分佈的剃齒加工餘量(圖一σ或Β)。这样,齒形的修正卽須在齒輪根部切一缺口,並在齒形上留下不均勻分佈的剃齒加工餘量,以便在剃齒時,刀头能自由轉動(不干涉),为提高被剃齒輪的精度及剃齒刀耐用度創造了有利的条件。 齒形修正的特性及數值,决定於对剃齒所留下的加工餘量及齒形上不需剃齒部分的多寡。
