无论是在中国,还是欧美日的成熟汽车市场,B级车市场向来是各大厂商的兵家必争之地。因为对于厂商而言,更低级别的加级和A级车,尽管销量巨大,但单台利润很低,因此总体利润并不高;而更高级别的C级及以上级别车型,虽然单车利润较高,不过销量有限,也很难保证利润总额。而B级车,不但能实现可观的销量,而且还会有不错的利润表现,所以往往被汽车企业视为中流砥柱,也是车厂研发投入最大、最为重视的产品。从某种程度上来说,一个品牌的B级车的实力,基本就可以代表这个品牌的整体实力。本次测试的主题,就力求通过“运动指数”的测试方法,对中国B级车市场的代表车型进行全面评价,从而找出现在谁是“B级运动之王”。
