Objective: To investigate the value of [11C] -β-CFT dopamine transporter (DAT) PET imaging in early diagnosis and severity of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Methods: DATPET imaging of basal ganglia in early PD group, advanced PD group and normal control group was performed. Differences in basal ganglia DAT uptake index were compared between the three groups. The basal ganglia DAT uptake index Correlation of UPDRS scores. Results: The basal ganglia DAT uptake index was significantly decreased in patients with PD. The unilateral PD symptom / ipsilateral basal ganglia DAT uptake index was significantly lower than that in the control group. There was a significant negative correlation between DAT uptake index in basal ganglia and UPDRS movement score in PD group. Conclusion: The [11C] -β-CFT basal ganglia DATPET imaging is helpful for the early diagnosis of PD and the evaluation of the severity of the disease.
