2011年7月25日,《纽约时报》在温州动车亊故发生两天后,在头版头条引用知名媒体人童大焕先生的一首诗《中国,请停下你飞奔的脚步》:“中国.请停下你飞奔的脚步,等一等你的人民,等一等你的灵魂,等一等你的道德.等一等你的良知丨不要让列车脱轨,不要让桥梁坍塌,不要让道路成为陷阱,不要让房屋成为废墟。慢点走,让每一个生命都享有自由和尊严。每一个个体,都不应该被这个时代拋弃。”其满含深情的呼唤引发了国人极大的关注和反思。
