自乔秀夫提出辽东细河群与燕山青白口系对比意见之后,邢玉盛等发表了有关辽南“埃迪科拉生物群”的文章,王曰伦先生主编的《中国震旦亚界》有关论文中亦与乔相似的意见来对比燕辽苏皖区中、上元古界。最近徐学思等又提出建立“淮河系”,以表达震旦系与蓟县系间的一段地层,并取代青白口系。方如恒等曾阐述过燕山型和辽东型中、上元古界自下而上逐层对比意见。笔者拟依在区调工作中对燕山型(辽西、辽北)和辽东型(太子河流域、复州—旅大区)中上元古界观察所得认识,借《中国区域地质》开展关于中,上元古界对比讨论之机,就“淮河系”能否成立问题提出粗浅看法,与研究和关心这一问题的同志交换意见。
