古希腊戏剧在中国舞台的上演,经历了从话剧到传统戏曲的舞台形式。罗锦鳞是国内著名的戏剧导演,三十多年来排演了众多古希腊戏剧,其中最具里程碑意义的是1986年话剧《俄狄浦斯王》的公演,最具有开创意义的是以中国传统戏曲改编和搬演古希腊悲剧,如河北梆子戏《美狄亚》(1989)、《忒拜城》(2002)和评剧《城邦恩仇》(2014)。在国际戏剧界,跨文化戏剧的舞台演出近20年来成为一种潮流。罗锦鳞导演以中国戏曲传统创新外来的戏剧,是典型的跨文化戏剧,既对传统的中国戏曲进行了改进和创新,又在古希腊戏剧的舞台呈现中融入了东方戏曲的元素。作为一种本土化特征浓厚却又暗合国际潮流的戏剧现象,这些跨文化戏剧实践于导演个人而言是其艺术生涯中非常重要的创作,给东西方的观众带来耳目一新的观剧体验。更重要的是,在东西方戏剧、传统与现代的融合问题上,它们典范性地演绎了跨文化戏剧的舞台美学和中西古今的文化交融。
Ancient Greek theater staged in the Chinese arena, has gone from drama to traditional opera stage form. In the international theater industry, stage performances of cross-cultural theater have become a trend for nearly two decades. Director Luo Jinlin’s novel, which is based on the tradition of Chinese traditional opera, is a typical cross-cultural drama. It not only improves and innovates the traditional Chinese opera, but also incorporates the elements of oriental opera in the stage presentation of the ancient Greek drama. As a drama phenomenon with strong local characteristics and in keeping with the international trend, these intercultural theater practices are very important works in the director’s personal career. They bring a refreshing drama experience to both eastern and western audiences. More importantly, on the issue of the integration of East-West drama, tradition and modernity, they have exemplarily demonstrated the stage aesthetics of intercultural theater and the cultural blending between ancient and modern China and the West.
