建国以来,除了这次被盗,北京警方有记载的故宫盗宝案一共发生了5起。1.故宫盗宝第一案1959年8月16日清晨,工作人员打开养性殿门时发现靠近地面的一块大玻璃碎了。经清点,被盗的是西间展厅的首卷柜,里边陈列着14页金册、10页玉册、5柄玉雕花把金鞘匕首及金钗、佩刀等文物。其中,14页金册中的8页和5柄玉雕花把金鞘匕首不翼而飞。当年11月12日,因形迹可疑,20岁的山东来京学生武庆辉带着赃物及现金坐火车时被乘警抓获。
