铜及铜合金铸锭的水平连铸是一种新的工艺。水平连铸没备简单,投资少,收得率高。产生废品的原因主要是铸锭存在表面缺陷(表面裂纹)。水平连铸时金属液从结品器一端进入,与结晶器内壁接触后受到一次冷却形成凝壳,并且不断增厚,当行进到二次冷却区时完成结晶而成铸锭。金属液不断进入结晶器,凝固了的铸锭则由牵引装置从结晶器另一端不断拉出。这一过程原则上可无限地连续进行。
