培养学生的跨文化交际能力是英语专业教学的目标要求。跨文化交流要求既输入外国文化(目标文化),也融入中国本土文化。当前全球化背景下,大学以文教化的功能逐渐淡化,英语专业学生跨文化意识淡薄、甚至缺失,严重影响了人才培养质量。从纽曼的大学理念视角出发,以笔者所在地方院校英语专业学生为受试对象,通过问卷调查和测试的方式探究跨文化交际教学改革的效果。研究表明纽曼大学理念下的跨文化交际教学改革有利于在新形势下培养学生的跨文化素养,提高学生的跨文化交际能力。
Developing students’ intercultural communicative competence is the target of English major teaching. Cross-cultural communication requires both foreign culture (target culture), but also into the Chinese native culture. Under the current background of globalization, the function of cultural education in universities is gradually diminished. The cross-cultural awareness of English majors is weak or even missing, seriously affecting the quality of personnel training. From the point of view of Newman’s idea of university, I take English majors in local colleges of the author as subjects, and through questionnaires and tests, I explore the effect of intercultural communication teaching reform. Research shows that the Newman University under the concept of intercultural communication teaching reform is conducive to cultivate students ’cross-cultural accomplishments in the new situation, improve students’ intercultural communication skills.
