在威廉·加迪斯的代表作《小大亨》中,熵不仅是一个被正式讨论的重要概念,而且是渗透了全书的叙事话语。本文从直接引语构成的叙事话语、一方不在场的电话对话、话语的异质杂糅和对话的无法交流这四个方面分析小说中后现代话语的熵,探讨加迪斯是如何通过熵化的对话模式来说明语言的熵或混乱造成了信息的破坏,折射出后现代时期的文化衰败,展现了美国后工业社会被大商业和信息技术侵蚀和挖空的怪状。
In Wilhelm Cadiz’s masterpiece The Little Tycoon, entropy is not only an important concept that has been formally discussed, but also an infiltration of narrative discourse throughout the book. This article analyzes the entropy of the postmodern discourse in the novel from four aspects: narrative discourse consisting of direct quotations, one-sided phone conversations, heterogeneous mixing of utterances, and non-exchanging of dialogues, and discusses how Cadiz passed the entropy Dialogue mode to illustrate the language entropy or chaos caused the destruction of information, reflecting the cultural decline in the post-modern era, showing the post-industrialized society in the United States by the big business and information technology erosion and hollowing strange.
