The color reaction of Bi (Ⅲ) ~ 3.5-Br_2-PADAP-OP system was studied in this paper. The blue complex was formed immediately in PH 2 perchlorate medium with λ max = 595 nm and ε 595 = 9.9 × 10 ~ 4. Beer’s law is obeyed in the range of 0-30μg / ml, and the composition of the complex is Bi (Ⅲ): 3.5-Br_2-PADAP = 2: 3. The paper also studied the separation of bismuth from copper and other metal ions Ⅲ); This method has been used to determine trace amounts of bismuth in pure zinc and cobalt salts.
