  【Abstract】Nowadays is an economy, technology and information global time, and it’s not enough for people to accept education only by school teaching. So educational department has put forward a suggestion to develop students’ autonomous learning ability. Therefore, school education should pay much attention to train students’ autonomous learning ability and it’s the requirement of society as well as the necessity of time.

  1. Introduction
  Purpose of the Present Study
  The ability of learner autonomy usually stresses that students can make sure their study goals, decide their study contents and rate, supervise their study process and estimate their study effect and so on. Nowadays the design and implementation of English course in middle school is beneficial to optimize students’ way of English learning and make students bring their potential into full play so as to form effective study strategies. So it’s the necessity of contemporary society to strengthen and attach great importance to the training of middle school students’ autonomous learning ability in English.
  2. The Study
  2.1 Research Questions
  Based on the study purpose and the practical significance of learner autonomy in middle school English study, the research questions are as follows: Question 1: What main factors will influence middle school students’ ability of learner autonomy in English study? Question 2: What effects will those main factors have on middle school students’ ability of learner autonomy in English study? Question 3: What should teachers and students in middle school do to improve students’ ability of learner autonomy in English?
  2.2 Subjects
  The subjects of the study were chosen from NO.30 middle school in Zhanghe. The researcher chose totally 100 students from two classes in grade two, The two classes had many things in common. First of all, the two classes had the same English teacher and they received the same teaching methods. Secondly, they used the same textbook and they had the same lecture schedule. Last but not least, the average grades of English of the two classes were very approximate. Therefore, the study subjects had little intervening factors to the research questions.
  2.3 Instruments
  Questionnaires
  The researcher totally distributed 100 questionnaires to 100 students and also got back 100 questionnaires. All the questions are multiple choice and students can choose only one answer for each question. These questions have close connection with students’ autonomous learning ability in English. And students’ choice of these questions will reflect their situations of learner autonomy in English.   2.4 Data collection and Analysis

  Pedagogical Implications
  Through the study, the researcher has got lots of pedagogical implications. Teachers should try to create good classroom atmosphere. Relaxed and harmonious study atmosphere can help students focus their attention on study and be confident in participating different kinds of study activities. Teachers should also make full use of multimedia tools in teaching. Teachers can let students watch English movies and flashes to enlighten them to think actively and finish teaching tasks. What’s more, teachers should often praise students in order to encourage them to study harder and stimulate their study interest. The researcher always believes that teachers’ praise and encouragement have significant effects on students’ study motivation. Improving students’ autonomous learning ability in English is not an overnight thing, teachers have to improve their own qualities and constantly explore and summarize teaching experience in teaching practice. Meanwhile, they should try to achieve the role changing and make students be the master of study.
