前言泥浆泵的设计经历了两个基本结构明显不同的历史时期。第一个时期持续了大约50年之久,在此时期中虽然泵的大小有所变化,也作了一些次要的改进,但整个泥浆泵制造行业的基本设计思想没有多大变化。第二个时期到现在(1969)还不过5年左右,却在泵的基本设计方面出现了根本的变化,其影响是如此的深远,以致于使全行业在设计新的泥浆泵时都沿着这个新的方向发展。本文所谈的是导致这种变革的历史原因以及正在推广的新设计的若干重要特点。讨论的对象限于钻井泥浆系统中所用的活塞或柱塞式正排量泵,主要是三缸单作用泵与从石油工业早期起就在钻机上使用的双缸双作用泵的比较。
Introduction The design of the mud pump has undergone two historical periods with markedly different basic structures. The first period, which lasted about 50 years, did some minor improvements during this period although the size of the pump was changed. However, the basic design philosophy for the entire mud pump manufacturing industry did not change much. The second period up to the present (1969) was not over five years ago. However, fundamental changes have taken place in the basic design of the pump. The effects are so profound that the whole industry is moving along with the design of the new mud pump This new direction of development. What this article is talking about is the historical reasons for this change and several key features of the new design being promoted. The discussion was limited to piston or positive piston displacement pumps used in drilling mud systems, primarily the triple-cylinder single-action pump compared to the twin-cylinder double-acting pump used on rigs from the early days of the oil industry.
