在毛主席革命路线的指引下,汽车和拖拉机生产形势一派大好。江西省很多工厂(甚至县社一级农机厂),都生产安源“七○”型简易拖拉机.因此,齿轮的需要量大大增加,尤其是对差速器主件的伞齿轮的需要非常迫切。这种伞齿轮须用构造复杂、价值昂贵的刨齿机生产。由于多数工厂没有这种设备,严重地影响着拖拉机的生产。所以,改革差速器的结构便成为摆在我们面前的迫切任务. 为了解决这个问题,我们反复学习了毛主席关于“打破洋(?),走自己工业发展道路”的伟大教导,我们对现有伞齿轮差速器进行了调查研究,分析了伞齿轮在差速器里的作用.例如,在一般书上规定伞齿轮差速器的三条性质是:
