The first time I stood on the platform, facing to a group of seven years old kids, I could not help expressing my deep feeling: What would my future be like? How could I make them on my thumb?
When I stepped into the classroom, with a sweet smile on my face, the kids were so excited that they greeted me with a big hand. It sounded too loud as if it was a thunder before a serious storm!
After introducing myself in a mild tongue, I showed pictures about culture of English countries on screen. I wanted to tell them something about the Great Britain, a native English speaking country, in order to inspire their interest in learning English.
The first picture was Queen ElizabethⅡ,waving hands to her people.
“ This is Queen ElizabethⅡ,the monarch of the Great Britain.”
Never than I finished, all the kids began to speak their minds.
“Oh, she looks as old as my grandma.”
“I can see many deep lines on her face. Doesn’t she do beauty treatment every day?”
“Oh, she needs to lose fat! Look! Her leg is not slim enough!”(Actually the picture had been reduced to an incorrect size).
“Does she have a magic mirror like the Queen in Snow White?”
……
A series of questions flashed from their mouth that I could not imagine, even could not know how to give them response.
Suddenly, the whole room broke into a sea of shouting. Some kids left their seats, walking through the classroom, as free as flying birds. Some beat their pencil-boxes on the desk, making noises that so harsh to ears. Some even move their desks to strengthen the voice. At that moment, the classroom seemed to be at sixes and sevens.
I got confused and was greatly anxious like a cat on hot bricks. I tried to control them, raising my voice and even clapping my hands. No matter how energetic strength I exerted, it seemed pointless. I flashed to find myself in a distressing and awkward situation.
A silly idea occurred on my mind.
“Give up, buddy!”
“Should I? Oh, no! This is my iron bowl. It is the base to support my life.”
I had no choice but to force myself to fight against these naught, but clever and naiive kids till the end of the class.
From that time on, I am fighting like a knight at war every day.
