中国是世界上惟一知五、爱玉、用玉、尊玉、并且拥有独特玉文化历史的国度。中国的古玉在世界古文明中,已经形成了一种独特的文化,是世界各文明古国所没有的,它对中华民族的影响之深远是难以想象的。中国人尊玉从两个字便可管窥一班。一个字是皇,皇由白和玉两字组成:一个字是玉,由王加一点组成。皇与王都是古代天子的尊称,是至高无上权力的拥有者,由此可见玉在中国人心里的位置。
