如同所有生来就由人选择的其他事物一样,妙思也自有其变革与时尚,时代不同,形式也不同。大约在17世纪之初,出现了一批文人,可称之为玄学派诗人。在评论考利的文章中,约略评述他们一番似乎并无不妥。玄学派诗人均为饱学之士,因此他们竭力炫耀学问。然而不幸的是,他们决定用诗歌来展示满腹经纶.结果写出来的并非诗歌,而是韵文。而且这些韵文常常只经得起指头的推敲,而不堪耳朵的鉴赏。因为这些东西的韵律太差,只有计算音节数目才称得上
Like all other things born of human choice, Miaosi also has its own changes and fashion, different times and different forms. At about the beginning of the 17th century, a group of scholars appeared and could be called metaphysical poets. There is nothing wrong with commenting on Cowley’s articles in some commentary. Metaphysical poets are full of people, so they tried to show off knowledge. Unfortunately, however, they decided to use poetry to show their fullness in economy and the result was not poetry, but verse. And these verses are often only able to withstand the scrutiny of the fingers, and overbearing appreciation. Because the rhythm of these things is too poor, only the number of syllables can be called
