Twenty-one patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) were treated with chemotherapy and BCG. During the remission period, these cases were immunized with irradiated allogeneic AML blast cells or leukemia-associated antigen (LAA). The LAA antigen was obtained by subjecting the cell membrane of leukemic blasts to low-frequency sonication and then to DEAE ion exchange chromatography.
