Network-driven TVs, media tablets, digital media adapters such as Apple TV and other products that support Over-the-Top (OTT) video entertainment over a broadband connection will almost triple shipments in 2011-2015. This will pose a significant challenge to traditional television broadcasting and the media. According to IHS iSuppli’s consumer platform special report, by 2015, OTT-supported product shipments are expected to grow from 258 million in 2011 to 731 million. OTT shipments this year are expected to reach 384.8 million units, an increase of nearly 50% over 2011. In 2011 the OTT market increased 68% strongly. Now there is news that the London Summer Olympics will use the most advanced technology, using the internet to provide event news, BBC is energetic, go all out preparing for 2,500 hours of OTT TV live coverage; NBC is not far behind, OTT TV Reported about 3600 hours or so in the market.
