Myocardial noncompaction (MN) is defined as an unclassified congenital cardiomyopathy which is characterized by the presence or prominent ventricular trabeculations and deep intertrabecular recesses. It is assumed to occur as an arrest in normal endomyocardial morphogenesis and is mostly associated with other congenital cardiac malformations.
