日本的高速火车创自1964年,以四十多年的时间发展出全球数一数二的高速运输工具,一向让日本人引以为傲;如此成果,全因科技发展之故。日本著名建筑师冈部宪明(Noriaki Okabe)替日本小田急电铁设计了最新型号多用途特急列车(60000型RomanceCar MSE,Multi Super Express,下称60000MSE),当人人都以为设计者是一位“科技达人”时,原来他对设计与科技却有另一套理解:“科技不是与自然对抗,而是透过科技,把设计与人、与自然互相融和。”
