Saul Bellow has never been to China, but his work contains a lot of content about China. From the perspective of image, these imaginative writing about China reflect not only the collective imagination and self-expression of China in the West, but also the psychological influence of the Jewish national culture. Influenced by the political and state relations, the image of China in his works has also changed several times. Especially since the 20th century, Bellow’s transformation toward China has turned positive. These reflect the social and cultural forces behind the individual imagination.
