《愤怒的葡萄》是美国著名作家、诺贝尔文学奖获得者斯坦贝克的代表作。该小说的写作背景是当时的美国正处于大萧条时期,人们的生活日益贫困,但是,很多女性仍然融入贫苦大众的“大我”中,与其他贫困者分享自己的食物。作者深刻地批判了20世纪30年代的美国男性和人类至上的二元对立模式以及父权主义对女性的摧残与压迫。揭示了以乔德妈妈、罗莎香、第四清洁所妇女委员会为代表的妇女对自身权利的追求与维护。在大萧条时期,她们的言行显示了妇女的高贵品质与不可或缺的社会作用。作者在文中淋漓尽致地表现了女性的善良、勇敢与慈爱,宣扬了女权主义思想。
“Angry Grapes” is a famous American writer, the Nobel Prize winner Steinbeck masterpiece. The background of this novel is that the United States was in the midst of the Great Depression and people were living in increasingly poor conditions. However, many women still joined the poor people and shared their food with other poor people. The author profoundly criticized the binary opposition pattern of American men and humanity in the 1930s as well as the patriarchal violence and repression of women. Revealed the pursuit and maintenance of their own rights by women, represented by Mom Joad, Rosalindus, and the Women’s Committee of the Fourth Cleaner. During the Great Depression, their words and deeds showed the noble qualities of women and their indispensable social role. The author vividly demonstrated the goodness, courage and kindness of women in the text and promoted feminist thinking.
