Quenching is a form of heat treatment. It is an operation method for rapid cooling after the steel is heated to a high temperature and kept warm for a period of time. Rapid cooling can be performed in water, oil or air. Quenched steel can improve its mechanical properties such as hardness and strength. Carburizing, nitriding and cyanation are chemical heat treatment. It is an operation method that infiltrates elements such as carbon and nitrogen into the surface of a steel piece to increase the hardness and wear resistance of the surface while retaining its original internal properties.
