经国家科委批准，中国成都高性能计算中心于１９９７年１１月１１日在西南交通大学举行隆重的建成挂牌仪式，国务院信息办、国家科委、国家教委、铁道部、电子部、中科院和省、市领导到会祝贺。省、市新闻单位对此作了及时的报道。为了充分利用中心的并行计算机资源，为全国，特别是我国西部地区的用户服务，本刊特开辟高性能计算机讲座，介绍“曙光１０００”的系统结构、性能和应用。讲座共三讲，本期刊出第一讲，除简介“曙光１０００”外，着重介绍如何申请国家高性能计算基金来使用“曙光１０００”为科研服务。下一讲的题目是：“曙光１０００”并行计算机编程环境。
Approved by the State Science and Technology Commission, China Chengdu High Performance Computing Center held a grand ceremony of completion and listing at Southwest Jiaotong University on November 11, 1997. The Information Office of the State Council, the State Science and Technology Commission, the State Education Commission, the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Electronics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Province City leaders will be congratulated. Provincial and municipal news agencies made timely reports on this. In order to make full use of the parallel computer resources of the center and serve the users all over the country, especially in the western part of our country, we hereby open a seminar on high-performance computers to introduce the system structure, performance and application of “Dawning 1000”. Lectures were made in three lectures, the first of this issue was published. In addition to the introduction of “Dawn 1000”, the seminar focused on how to apply for the National High Performance Computing Fund to use “Dawn 1000” for scientific research. The next topic is: “Dawning 1000” parallel computer programming environment.
