In Kagoshima Prefecture, South Kyushu, Japan, one family hopes to live a harmonious coexistence with nature without any artificial energy. But in the hot, humid climates, this seemingly simple wish is not easy to achieve. So this household residents found ARAY firm, ask architect Suzuki Yasu to help design an ecological housing, so that they can try low-carbon environmental protection at the same time, do not reduce the pursuit of quality of life. The neighborhood chosen by this household is located near the city center, on a volcano ash-formed platform. After examining the construction site, the architect gave birth to a bold idea. Why not make use of volcanic ash foot soil to build a “volcano hut”? Volcanic ash itself has very good engineering properties, in the fire, heat insulation, temperature control, humidity etc
