一间20多平方米客厅中间的那张乒乓球台吸引了我们这群来自《汽车商业评论》的闯入者的眼球,更吸引我们的是坐在客厅沙发上的86岁高龄的黄兆銮。2009年9月的一天下午,他用生动的表情,爽朗的笑声,诙谐的语言,将我们引入到一个久远的热情澎湃的年代。在中国第一汽车集团,黄兆銮的好人缘远近闻名。跟他交流,没有丝毫压力。偶尔走在一汽的厂区里,甚至去附近超市购物,人们都习惯性地称他“黄厂长”——他身上却找不到一点厂长的架子。这位1924年出生的汽车老人祖籍广东南海,天津长大,工作两年后考上北洋大学机械系,上学3年后加入林彪的南下工作团,却被抽调到叶剑英的华南工作团到广东工作。1953年国家要求技术干部归队转工业,他成为二汽筹备组成员,被刘西尧派到一汽实习时,被孟少农的一句话“留”了50年。1955年,黄兆銮到苏联实习工具管理,回国后,他在工具厂一干就是25年,成为我国汽车工业第一代工具管理的创始人。他在采访中对《汽车商业评论》强调:“你说工具我还略知一二,工具是个牙齿,啃零件的,我没搞过产品,所以我是个不懂汽车制造的汽车制造厂厂长。”1978年1月,他升任一汽副厂长,1979年8月任常务副厂长,1982年3月任代理厂长,同年7月任厂长。在这个过程中,他与徐元存书记先后在工具分厂和一汽总厂两度搭班子共事,在一汽50多年的历史中,绝无仅有。1985年6月,黄兆銮离休,耿昭杰接任。退下来后,耿昭杰让他当顾问。他说,我给你当个伙计,你怎么说,我怎么干。他还说,一个人有一个打法,你该怎么干就怎么干,但我有个原则,就是不参与,不干预,更不干扰。黄兆銮从1985年一直“顾问”到1992年,当年一汽咨询委员会成立,12个人进入咨询委,他是主任。到现在,当初的12人还剩下3人——另两人分别是孙忠明(原《吉林日报》编辑,曾任一汽组织部长)和孙景泉。
