日本海和中国东海学术讨论会(即“JECSS”)是在美国和日本一些著名海洋学家的发起下组织起来的。该讨论会的主要目的是:(1)交流和讨论有关东亚边缘海域(包括黑潮和亲潮区)环流和有关水文现象的研究成果;(2)探讨上述海域在不同时间和空间尺度上的海水性质、生物和沉积物等方面与西北太平洋的相互作用。第一次“JECSS”会议是1981年6月1日至4日在日本召开的。当时出席会议的有美国、日本和南朝鲜,共41人。提交论文21篇。在那次会议上,除了进行学术交流外,还作出了以下三个决定:(1)第二届讨论会于1983年4月仍在日本举行;(2)寻求国际海委
The Japan Sea and the East China Sea Symposium (“JECSS”) were organized under the aegis of some prominent oceanographers in the United States and Japan. The main objectives of the symposium are: (1) to exchange and discuss research findings on the circulation and related hydrological phenomena in the coastal waters of East Asia (including the Kuroshio and Intoxicant); and (2) to explore seawater in the above sea areas at different time and space scales Nature, biological and sediment and other aspects of the interaction with the Pacific Northwest. The first “JECSS” meeting was held in Japan from June 1 to June 4, 1981. Present at the meeting were the United States, Japan and South Korea, a total of 41 people. 21 papers submitted.
