十进位振荡器已经成为现代短波系统必不可少的一部分。特别是对发射机,为了使发射频率稳定,十进位振荡器已经代替了使用了几十年的多块晶体振荡器。为了使发射机在邻近信道通讯时有良好的信噪比,除了要求接收机具有良好的有效选择性外,还要求发射机对杂散辐射有较高的抑制。通常所用的发射放大器,其杂散波与振荡器噪声无衰减辐射的带宽为30千周及300千周(看发射机的频率而定)。
