桉树杂种优势显著,为找出桉树最优杂交组合和育出更多的杂种种子供生产用,我所于1977年以来开展了桉树杂交育种试验。通过实践,我们认为:去雄是桉树杂交育种中,最费时费工的工作,因此,很难通过人工去雄的方法进行杂交获得大量种子。目前,尚未发现桉树雄性不育系,仍需解决整株去雄问题。各种桉树的主花期是不同的,有没有足量的花粉进行授粉,是杂交育种成败的关键。因此,我们在鉴定最优杂交组合的同时,于1978年把桉树药物杀雄和调整花期作为研究课题。通过多年实践,基本上解决了桉树整株杀雄和杂交父母本花期不重叠问题,为建立桉树定向杂交种子园提供了有效措施。
Eucalyptus heterosis is significant. To find out the optimal hybridization of eucalyptus and to breed more hybrid seeds for production, I conducted the eucalyptus hybrid breeding experiment since 1977. Through practice, we think that extirpation is the most time-consuming task for hybridization of eucalyptus, so it is very difficult to get lots of seeds through crossbreeding by hand. At present, no eucalyptus male sterile lines have yet to be found and the problem of removing the entire plant remains to be solved. The main flowering of various eucalyptus is different, pollen is not sufficient pollination, is the key to the success of hybrid breeding. Therefore, while identifying the optimal crosses, we investigated the killing of eucalyptus and the flowering period in 1978. After many years of practice, the problem of non-overlapping of the flowering periods of the male and female parents of eucalyptus was basically solved, which provided effective measures for the establishment of the directional hybrid seed orchard of eucalyptus.
