Basel has the oldest and most abundant zoo in Switzerland. Due to its central location, it may be one of the most important inner city park facilities in the city. In order to retain this impression as much as possible, the zoo has been guilty of the site selection of various animal halls and their surrounding fences. There is also a groundbreaking concept behind this building – it not only shows a single animal species, but also the complete cycle of predation between flora and fauna on the African savannah of the Atocha. The surrounding wall is made of alumina inside and outside, forming a complete organic natural scene without the need for expensive and artificial walls.
