Flosso Saribang predicts that the U.S. toolmaker’s output value in 1985 will increase from 2.3 billion U.S. dollars in 1981 to 2.9 billion U.S. dollars, and will increase further to 5.2 billion U.S. dollars in 1990. U.S. market research company recently stated in its investigation report entitled “Consumer Tools and Tool Markets” in the United States: In 1981, it estimated that about 1.1 million metal cutting tools were purchased. The vast majority of these are the following three tools, namely turning (33.3% of sales), drilling (29.2%) and milling tools (19.5%). The sickle is only 4.4% of the total sales. The survey stated that: In 1981, the machinery industry was the largest market for metal cutting tools, with 472,000 purchases and an amount of US$1.14 billion. The transportation machinery department purchased 167,000 pieces. The amount was $579.4 million, 210,000 pieces were purchased by the metal-worked products industry, amounting to $281.51 million, 124,000 pieces purchased by the electrical and electronic equipment department, and amounting to $17.79 million.
