Objective To investigate the level of exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) in patients with bronchial asthma at different stages and its correlation with pulmonary function. Methods Sixty patients with asthma in our hospital were enrolled in this study. According to the clinical manifestations, they were divided into acute attack (n = 30) and remission (n = 30). 27 healthy subjects were selected randomly as control group, Subjects were tested for FeNO and pulmonary function tests, analysis of FeNO and lung function differences between the groups were statistically significant, and whether there is a correlation between FeNO and pulmonary function. Results FeNO was (64.67 ± 14.46) ppb in acute exacerbation of asthma group, and (FEV1%) was (52.23 ± 6.41) in 1 second, FeNO was (27.37 ± 5.65) ppb in FEV1 (93.20 ± 6.40). FeNO in healthy controls was (10.10 ± 2.67) ppb, and FEV1% was (92.60 ± 6.26). FeNO levels in acute asthma exacerbation group and remission group were significantly higher than those in healthy controls Significance (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in FEV1% between remission and healthy controls (P> 0.05), and the difference between the other groups was statistically significant. There was no correlation between FeNO level and FEV1% in acute exacerbation group and remission group (P> 0.05). Conclusion FeNO levels in patients with asthma were significantly increased. FeNO could be used as a reliable indicator to evaluate airway inflammation. FeNO and pulmonary function were evaluated from different aspects of asthma control.
