There are many people in Britain and France who wish to build an undersea tunnel or sea bridge to communicate traffic in Britain and the mainland. The proposed construction of the Channel Tunnel for the English Channel has been a story half a century ago. However, due to the traditional policies of the Britishized island nations and the fear they have always felt toward the mainland, they have been brought up several times, yet they have not taken a full swing. In 1883, the London Times said loudly that the tunneling would facilitate the military aggression from the mainland. This almost hysterical peculiar fears firmly occupy the hearts of the British, for half a century there has been no change. In World War II, the advent of lightning tactics, cross-sea missiles and the like changed the old military notion. In recent years, the mid-range, long-range rocket with atomic warheads further overturned the traditional tactics of attacking and defending.
