广州抽水蓄能电站的建设，有助于吸收下夜时电网过剩的电量，使核电机组能稳定满载运行。在吸收核电之余，还可将所蓄水量灵活运用，选取效率高的运行方式替代其他高成本的机组发电，降低整体发电成本。香港中华电力有限公司对蓄能机组的运用制定了一套调度方法，以提高其经济效益。
The construction of Guangzhou Pumped Storage Power Station helps to absorb the excess power of the power grid during the night and enables the nuclear power unit to run at full capacity.
