对于艺术这样一种开放性与限定性并存的人类精神现象,任何一种只肯定其中之一而否定另外一者的做法都难免有失偏颇。我们需要寻找一种能够兼顾二者的理解方式,如此才有可能对于何谓“艺术”的问题作出较为合理的理解。“纯艺术”这一概念存在的意义就在于为我们理解艺术问题提供一个能够避免二者冲突的理论基点,使一切关于艺术问题的思考都可以毫无障碍地围绕这一理论基点展开。
For such an open and restrictive coexistence of human beings as the spiritual phenomenon, any one that affirms only one and negates the other will inevitably be biased. We need to find a way of understanding that takes into account both, so that we can make a more reasonable understanding of what is meant by “art.” The significance of the concept of “pure art” lies in providing a theoretical starting point for us to understand the problem of art so as to avoid any conflict between the two, so that all thinking on the art issue can be unobstructed around this theoretical starting point.
