INTRODUCTION New information has been obtained in recent years to evaluate the South Siberia fold zone. The importance of the area is growing, especially in the Precambrian folds of the West Indies platform, where some new genetic types of lead, zinc and pyrite-polymetallic deposits are found to be more evident . In 1968, V. S. Kormilitsyn identified the Yenisei-Baikal polymetallic metallogenic belt. The ore zone is part of a larger metallogenic province within the multicyclosed fold zone system of South Siberia. The South Siberian polymetallic province, extending to the southern fold belt of Siberia, was formed after several mineralization periods. Because of the existence of different metallogenic stages and the presence of fold structures and overlying structures of different ages, the province has obvious banded structures.
