Field samples were used to determine the contents of soil organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and heavy metal elements in middle-low yielding tea plantations in Xishuangbanna, Pu’er, Lincang and Baoshan areas in Yunnan province. The results showed that the average content of soil organic matter was 38.53 g / kg and the average contents of total nitrogen, total phosphorus and total potassium were 1.72,0.55 and 12.93 g / kg, respectively. The average content of available nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium were 137.43,5.81 and 79.1 mg / kg, respectively. There were some deficiencies in the three major nutrients, especially phosphorus and potassium, which were the main limiting factors of nutrient supply in the tea plantation. It was suggested that phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be properly applied in the tea plantation. Lead, cadmium, mercury content exceeded, it is recommended to pay attention to the management of the tea plant fertilizer, pesticides in the content of heavy metal elements.
