In order to investigate the effects of high-dose hormones on cerebral microcirculation and hemorrheology after traumatic brain injury, 24 rabbits were randomly divided into 3 groups: standard control group, injury control group and dexamethasone treatment group. The changes of diameter and velocity of the pia mater microvessels and blood rheology at 3h after injury were measured at 0.5h, 0.5h, 1h, 2h and 3h after injury respectively. The results showed that high-dose hormone could significantly expand the micro-arteries of the lesion at 0.5 h and significantly accelerate the blood flow velocity. 3h after injury can significantly reduce erythrocyte sedimentation rate, whole blood viscosity, hematocrit and fibrinogen content, and significantly enhance the ability of red blood cells to reduce its aggregation. These results indicate that high-dose hormones can significantly improve brain microcirculation and hemorheology in rabbits after traumatic brain injury
